SESSION 2 - Auust 5th 6-8 pm - TOPIC: Technical Basics for Any Camera

From Risa:

Photography’s barrier to entry is not the equipment. But understanding the equipment you are using and its capabilities is pivotal in creating quality images. In this session we’ll go over the basic terminology, how it pertains to the camera you’re using and how that translates to your surroundings. We have to learn to ’see’ within the restrictions of our gear, i.e. I will not shoot the same with my iPhone as I will with my professional DSLR and a full lighting set up. Using an all-user friendly overview of the technical aspects of photography, we will discuss the necessary terms to get you shooting in the environments you have available to you. This will include examples of assessing surroundings and picking your shot based on restrictions, assets and what you can to to use your environment to your advantage.

Call 692-7157 or email Jen LaRock at jlarock@sals.edu to register. Ages 13 and up, limited capacity.
